- Reason for Purchase: My eye have always had dark circles. I don’t have puffy eyes, just these dark circles since I was a child. I believe it has to do with the amount of melanin in my skin. I get hyper-pigmentation, so the dark circles under my eyes are just a side-effect of a larger problem. I wanted to see if Vitamin K was all it was hyped up to be.
*Tip: When you go online a pop-up will ask for you email for 20% off. This will bring the price down to $57.60.

The texture of the serum is velvety smooth. It is so comforting on the eyes. You do not need to use a lot–a little goes a LONG way. The instructions say to only use this on the bottom of the eye but it did not say NOT to put it on the top. So if you have dry eyes all around it is safe to put it on the lid too. (note: do not put on eyelid for daytime unless covering with eye shadow, it is too bright to look natural)
The softening ingredient Cape Chamomile Oil made my eyes feel very soft and velvety. My eyes are usually dry and sad, but the Chamomile softens the skin around which made me feel more awake.
The serum doesn’t “dry”, so when you put it on make sure to only place a little especially when you put on your under-eye cover up. Try to have a cover up such as Maybelline Dark Circle Eraser which can work WITH the serum for a glowing look in the morning.
Because of the two ingredients Mica and Silica, my eyes truly did look “Bright”. The illumination from the two reflected to give a shiny appearance. I would not wear this on its own because it was too bright. But when coupled with cover up it gives just the right look of “awake”.
Vitamin K is supposed to reduce the appearance of dark circles under the eyes by stopping blood vessel leakage. The product does not say how long this should take, but the illuminating and softening effect were immediate.
Overall the serum has in fact improved my dark circles. I have noticed that when I look in the mirror I do not seem nearly as tired as I used to. I do not have large bags under my eyes but without concealer I do look like someone punched me in the eye. Yet I have noticed them less and less over the couple of months since I have been using it.
For example, the other day I had gone out without concealer because I completely forgot and I was late for work. I thought about it slowly over the course of the day because I am self conscious about it. But when I went to the bathroom I couldn’t tell if I had or not because my under-eyes looked fine. Upon closer inspection I found I had not put any on. I had finally reached the point where I could be seen without heavy concealer and no one would think I’m getting beaten up every day :D.
I had coupled this serum with the Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Dark Circle Concealer. That will be another blog post about how these two may have worked together to give me the amount of Vitamin K I needed to wash out my dark circles.
