N° 28 Lip Treatment Oil

  • Product: N° 28 Lip Treatment Oil
  • Vendor:;  New Beauty Magazine
  • Initial Review: 10/28/2015
  • Price: 42.00 USD
  • Reason for purchase: I have extremely dry lips. They are always cracking and burning with lack of moisture. I bought this from Sephora when it was featured in New Beauty Magazine as a lip oil that would keep my lips not only hydrated, but would also induce them to produce moisture on their own as well.

Lip Treatment Oil

Day 1

My first impression of this product when it arrived in the mail was that it had a very  nice shape to it. The egg-shaped applicator was very smooth and it allowed me to apply the serum straight onto my lips if I wanted (although the packaging suggests the use of a finger pad). The oil smells a little like Vaseline; yet it was not sticky like it. It was very smooth and the scent did not last long. I can smell nothing from it now. My lips feel moisturized and healthy already (they were very chapped before putting this on); I felt very relieved.

How long it lasts

This product does not last very long on the lips. If you are not eating anything, it lasts up to 3 hours. If you are eating or drinking ANYTHING it is gone within 15 minutes. It is not the sticky “glue on your lips” sort of gloss. The oil hydrates and refreshes, but it is not a long-lasting cover.

With Make-up?

This product CAN be used with make-up, but it would be far better to use it with gloss instead of lipstick. Putting it over lipstick can also be counterproductive as you want the oil to come in full contact with your lips.

The gloss is very shiny on my lips. Because it has no color it is good to mix it with something that already has color like the gloss mentioned above.

Ingredient Expectations

  • Saliporine 8: Increase of natural moisture within 28 days of use;
  • Volulip: improve hydration in the lips as well as an elastic effect
  • Viamerine: reduce appearance of wrinkles

My Results

After a week of use my lips are already feeling more protected against the cold rainy weather in Illinois. Even after the oil has worn off my lips they are no longer burning and are not cracking as they usually do after my normal lip treatments do. The Volulip in the oil has increased the elasticity to avoid cracking which is a miracle on my lips. When 28 days are up I will report back to confirm or deny an increase in natural moisture in my lips.
