I’ve been asked: “How do you take care of your skin”. The answer is both simple but strange. For those of you who are in to Korean Beauty (aka: K-Beauty), you’ll know that the average Korean woman adheres to a 10-step skin care process to maintain her skin. I have done that with my routine, but also added my own customizations based on my research and what I found has worked best for my skin (especially with the use of oils). Let me know in the comment section what you do for your skin care routine and what you think of my morning/night ritual!
One of my favorite magazines is New Beauty Magazine. They are actually the reason I got into beauty blogging in the first place. Sometimes they have such interesting articles that I feel compelled to share some of their suggestions and guidelines with you.
I needed a new hydrating lotion or oil to put on my face for the night and day. I wanted one that could also go everywhere (on my face, eyes, lips and neck). That way I could take a break from eye creams for a while.
When I went home for spring break, I forgot my Jurlique Soothing Foaming Cleanser as I mentioned in the Burt’s Bees Sensitive Facial Cleanser. Because of this, I had to buy a cleaner for day and night. I decided to go on a Burt’s Bees spree and bought this oil for the morning. I wanted to go with an oil for moisturizing, especially in the morning to set the tone for the rest of the day. So I went to CVS and picked this up for my time at home.
I had been home for spring break and had forgotten my Jurlique Soothing Foaming Cleanser. Tragic, but I decided to find an affordable, moisturizing cleanser that would serve as my daily wash. I wanted one that served as a humectant, all the while scrubbing away dirt and oil I may have accumulated during the day.
I wanted to try a new wrinkle cream that would be able to smooth and tighten my skin. Although I’m 24, you can never start too early with anti-aging formulas. It is more like aging or wrinkle prevention as opposed to wrinkle-reduction. I wanted to start with a powerful concoction that has caught the attention of the anti-aging community and see for myself what kind of results I would achieve, even for those who had not started “wrinkling” yet.
I looked up reviews for best facial cleansers that are made for people with oily skin. I wanted one that would help regulate my oil production cycle. Jurlique came up as one of the best and also the most affordable. It was said to be extremely gentle and would not strip away my natural oils to clean the skin. So I gave it a go…
I asked the sales associate at my local Ulta store that I wanted a finishing powder that would absorb oil. She asked me my price range and I told her around $30. I was directed towards another associate who guided me towards “Tarte“. I had never used the brand, but she told me that this product was the powder of all powders for oily skin.
